They're black, they're descended from the Ancient Israelites, and they're proud of their heritage. (If some of their members were to come out of the closet and announce themselves as homosexual, then they'd compolite the Holy Trinity of persecuted minorities!) They also like to dress up in Halloween costume-like religious garb, complete with tunics and Arabic headgear, and stand on streat corners preaching their message of death to whites in the name of Yahweh. Despite their claims of Biblical descent, the Black Israelites deny any connection to Judaism, insisting that Jews are not Israelites at all. (Big difference, huh?) These folks are the spiritual followers of Yahweh ben Yahweh, a radical black supremacist dude who expanded his movement in the early 1970s. Yahweh's followers primarily live with him in Miami, but splinter groups have made a presence for themselves in New York, Boston, and other American cities.
