Boing Boing used to be one of the leading subversive underground culture zines, often mentioned alongside Mondo 2000. These guys gave us such luminaries as Rudy Rucker, who has since become a famous science fiction and cyberpunk author. The magazine Boing Boing folded, but the group itself moved to the World Wide Web. Like a number of other fringeware sites, they've transformed their Web site into a newsblog. Boing Boing specializes in "fun" weirdness and strangeness (mostly), which is why it's still hip and cool even after twenty years.
