Evaporated Milk Substitute

What is evaporated milk? In fact, it's simply regular dairy milk that has had some of its water content removed. Instead of paying for expensive cans of evaporated milk to use in your recipes, you can simply use the following formula:

2/3 cup non-fat dry milk powder + 3/4 cup water = 1 cup (8 ounces) evaporated milk.
