The Hobo Meal

In anticipation of the oncoming economic apocalypse…I present unto you the recipe for the greatest easy, cheap, and filling meal EVAR:

The HOBO MEAL.

You will need:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Chop the potatoes, carrots, and onions into small pieces. Shape your hamburger into two large patties, slightly larger than regular burger patties, and season with garlic salt and pepper. Lay down two pieces of tinfoil. Layer 1/4 of the potatoes first, then 1/4 of the carrots, then 1/4 the onions, one of the patties, then the same amount of onions, carrots and potatoes on top, in that order. Do the same on the other piece of foil. Take two more pieces of foil and shape them on top of each of the meals, crimping the edges well. Put them in the oven directly on the rack with a pan below them to catch the grease. Cook for 30 minutes, then turn them over and cook 30 more minutes. When they're done, season them with salt, pepper, and catsup to taste. Bon appetit!

Half of one hobo meal is really enough for one person if you don't eat enormous amounts of food at a sitting. Half of one is about a pound of food, I think, so this recipe should count for 4 good sized meals.
