Science and Pseudo-Science

The World Wide Web was developed at a university and first used for scientists, students, and technically adept programmers to share information over great distances. But times have changed…and the Conspiracy has moved onto the Web, as it has ontl all other places. Scientific information is still there to be had on the Web – especially in the astronomy-related sites. But Sturgeon's Law operates on the Net, as well, and so a great many Web pages offer you flashy graphics instead of useful information. Most of the sites dedicated to research and "true" science are bare-bones and often hard to navigate, while the fringe elements of science have elaborate, well-designed, and often quite beautiful pages. Perhaps these folks realize that since they don't have any real meat, they can attract folks with the sizzle.
