There are a lot of scare stories out there about the chemicals in those packets of microwave popcorn that you eat all the time…and at least some of them are true. What's more, the smell of the artificial butter flavoring in this thing is atrocious, especially if it burns while cooking. Why subject yourself (and your fellow cubicle slaves) to this, when you can make it yourself in the same amount of time? It's more healthy and just as tasty.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
Directions
- In a cup or small bowl, mix together the unpopped popcorn and oil. Pour the coated corn into a brown paper lunch sack, and sprinkle in the salt.
- Fold the top of the bag over three times to seal in the ingredients.
- Stand the bag upright in the microwave.
- Cook in the microwave at full power for 2 minutes and 15 seconds, or until you hear pauses of about 2 seconds between pops.
- Carefully open the bag to avoid steam, and enjoy.
