A John Frankenheimer film starring Rock Hudson as the new identity of a man, bored with his old life, fakes his death (with the help of a shady company) and tries to start again. Title sequence by Saul Bass. Cameos by many of the actors from THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE. The DVD features a restored scene of a orgiastic neopagan festival, the Santa Barbara Wine Festival, with lots of jiggly titties and chunky hippie-chick butts. Frankenheimer, on the director's commentary, notes that Rock Hudson wasn't acting afraid and annoyed at this spectacle, he really was freaked out by the Dionysian revelry.
