Not For Sale

It's nice to know we live in the 21st Century, where a man like Barack Obama can be elected to the office of the President of the United States. Truly, the 2008 election of Obama is a sign that slavery – one of the most blatant marks of the Conspiracy's drive to reduce us to chattel, as it has promoted the idea that it is somehow acceptable for human beings to enslave other human beings – is dead and gone, an artifact of the past.

That, however, is hardly the case. Even in these days of instantenous worldwide communications, interracial marriage, and tolerance of a kind never known before in history, the slave trade still exists and thrives in the dark areas of the world. And yet it rarely received any mention in mainstream media, who are more interested in celebrity pregnancies and divorces rather than the fact that there are still bastions of slavery, and that millions of slaves still struggle under the yoke even today.

"But surely, slavery is just an abomination that only exists somewhere over there – somewhere beyond the horizon where people are more barbaric and backward than here in this great land of ours!" You may want to take a look at the Slavery Map and learn otherwise. Even in the United States, people still keep other people as slaves – hidden and quiet, yes, but they still do it. Why? Because they can. Because the Conspiracy still wields a strong influence, and because they think they can get away with it.
