Talk about Jesus Christ Superstar

The thing I really like about this movie is that it's framed as a production from the outset. The performers arrive on a bus, unload all their props and costumes, and get to work. The only thing that's troubling is that we never see Ted Neely's (Jesus Christ) exit from the bus. He appears from a throng of people, dressed in Jesus-garb. Also, at the end of the film, we never see Neely get back on the bus with the other actors. It's as if he himself is not an actor, but Christ Himself.

I find it to be an amazing presentation of the material. I suppose we can credit Norman Jewison, who co-wrote the screenplay, for that wonderful touch.
