If there's one accomplishment of civilization that lets a casual viewer achieve an experience close to that of magic, it's the magic of the silver screen. Easily the all time most expensive, complicated, deceptive, and politically charged medium for entertainment ever devised, the movies have brought the art of storytelling to a visual level our ancestors could scarcely have dreamed of. And yet we take it all for granted! We sit there numbly, letting our minds fall under the enchantment of hack writing, casual acting, and pedestrian direction…all backed up by multi-million dollar special effects that can turn even the most mundane, mainstreal Hollywood comedy into an experience unlike any on this world.
If a movie is listed here with a , that means its entry here is especially in-depth, detailed, and hopefully delicious and interesting. These entries are worth reading, even if the movies may not be worth watching.
