The Advanced Technology materials are confidential, unpublished, copyrighted works. RTC's works include, among others, the individual works comprising a level known as "OT III." I found out this evening that you have posted certain of the OT III works to alt.religion.scientology without my clients approval. These works are registered with the U.S. Copyright Office under Registration No. TXu 292496. Your action violates my client's legal rights in that it is the unauthorized making of an electronic copy of the copyrighted materials. I hereby demand that you cancel this posting immediately. I am including, at the bottom, your header so as to identify which of your postings contain the infringing works. We are currently involved in litigation in the United States over the same materials in three separate lawsuits and similar works in two others. A preliminary injunction based on copyright infringement is in place in three of those suits in the United States District Court in San Jose, California. And a United States District Court in the state of Virginia has granted summary judgment in favor of my client for copyright infringement of some of these works. We are not seeking to become involved in litigation but we will take all necessary measures to protect these intellectual property rights. Please confirm that you have removed the copyrighted material as requested above.
