She let me understand that she and the staff of the parliament in general are rather annoyed by the fact that they have been turned into a copying institution for something that does not concern them at all. Between the lines I learned that they honour all the NOTs requests that they *must* honour according to the law, but no others. This means in plain languange that they will not honour any requests that are not properly formulated, or not properly paid for or that are faulty in any other way. This fact raises two points: 1. No mistakes are allowed. Order properly. Use the sample orders at the end of this message just as they are, without undue changes. Prepay in Swedish cash. 2. The parliament should be relieved of unnecessary work. Order from somewhere else. You have several choices, so toss a coin to pick one. If all three authorities get overworked (or if the CoS people get any ideas of deliberately overworking them) you will be provided with still more authorities to order from (out of a practically unlimited number of possible ones). Exchange the "authority/address/postal address/document number" lines in the sample requests for one of the following: Authority Sveriges riksdag Address 1 kammarkansliet Address 2 SE-100 12 Stockholm Address 3 Sweden Document number KK4-87-96/97 Authority Justitiekanslern Address 1 Box 2308 Address 2 SE-103 17 Stockholm Address 3 Sweden Document number 2601-96/15 Authority Justitiedepartementet Address 1 Address 2 SE-103 33 Stockholm Address 3 Sweden Document number 96/3523 Here are the sample requests you should use. Eponymous: ================================================= (Authority) (Address 1) (Address 2) (Address 3) _Request of a copy of a public document._ I request one copy of the document with protocoll number (document number), to be sent to me at the address below. I enclose SEK 680 to cover the cost of copying and postage. (place, date) (signature) (your name) (your address) ================================================= Anonymous: ================================================= (Authority) (Address 1) (Address 2) (Address 3) _Request of a copy of a public document._ I anonymously request one copy of the document with protocoll number (document number), to be sent to me under the name substitute of "NN" and through the intermediary indicated below. I enclose SEK 680 to cover the cost of copying and postage. (place, date) NN (c/o receiving name) (receiving address) ================================================= European residents send SEK 630 only (and change the request accordingly). Swedish residents write in Swedish and send SEK 530 only (and change the request accordingly). If this doesn't help and/or the authorities make any attempts at circumventing their legal obligations, please let me know. In the worst of cases I will arrange a lawyer to represent each and every individual that has trouble getting his NOTs copy. My doing that would be an adequate reply to the CoS motions that I posted about earlier today. Z --- oracle@everywhere: The ephemeral source of the eternal truth...
