Is there anyone out there that wants to bet one crown that they have been replaced? I give a 1:100 odd and your curiosity will be stilled tomorrow. Yesterday I went to the department of justice. I was told a rather amusing story. First, the scienos stole the NOTs and replaced them with text on how misunderstood they are. It was discovered and a fresh copy of the original was placed in the reading room, bound with security thread (the scienos didn't even have the sense to use a font for the forgeries that resembled the original). Next they tore out pages. It was discovered and a fresh copy of the original was placed in the reading room, and surveillance was increased. Next they were tipp-exing the text, on both sides of the paper, lest it could be read from the reverse. It was discovered and a fresh copy of the original was placed in the reading room. After that the lending copy was checked meticulously before and after each loan and the scienos were made to pay it every time they destroyed it or defaced it. Then they stopped destroying and defacing. But they're still guarding it. Treat them like naughty children, they seem to understand that language. * The press liked the thefts. First page in Dagens Nyheter, first page in Metro, reported in Svenska Dagbladet. They were reported by telegramme service (sort of Reuter's), so they should be in the provincial press too. Yet another great publicity success for the CoS. Most of the press coverage can be found at http://www.dtek.chalmers.se/~d1dd/cos/media.html . Only one (half, really) article is webbed in translation, but Daniel has some more translations; I'll talk with him about webbing them too. * Today I went to the parliament to fetch speaker Dahl's answer to Moorhead. By coincidence, a scieno delegation arrived at the same time. Two bouncer-looking characters in cheap suits and one psycho-looking character in cheap suit. They had the list of the MPs with them and told the reception that they wated to see "someone of the parliament". They were told they have to make appointments. So they begun to point at random names from the book: Scn: MP so-and-so? Rec: Not here today. Scn: MP this-and-that? Rec: Neither. Scn: MP whats-his-name then? Rec: Just left. Scn: How about the-other-one? Rec: In a meeting. You *must* make appointments. I told them that if they wanted anything, I was the best person to talk to. They said nothing, but they knew who I was. They tried a few more names with similar success. Did they give up? No. The bouncers placed themselves outside, on either side of the entrance door, molesting everyone that was going in and looked as if he/she could be an MP. One was. I couldn't hear what he told them, but he looked very determinedly uninterested. Then they finally left. The receptionist said that this has been going on every day for weeks.
